Osimhen ready to sign Chelsea pre-contract agreement

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has decided to join Chelsea in the summer after agreeing to leave Serie A champion Napoli.

The 25-year-old, who has a release clause of about £112 million, is willing to sign a pre-agreement in January but will not be joining Chelsea officially until the end of the current campaign.

Osimhen is sought after by big teams

Jerrymusa.com reports that Osimhen has been in regular communication with players like Didier Drogba and John Obi-Mikel in an attempt to convince him to sign with Chelsea.

For the majority of the season, Osimhen has been at the top of Chelsea’s list of players they would like to add to their roster.

Ivan Toney is also a top target for the Blues, but a transfer to Stamford Bridge is thought to be hampered by his advanced age and exorbitant asking price.

Osimhen plans to relocate by summer

The Nigerian international would be pleased to reach a deal this month that would allow him to formally relocate in the summer, and he would welcome an approach from the London team.

The key player for Napoli is not expected to transfer this month, and the pre-agreement is the only means by which a transaction can be reached during this window.

With a release clause of approximately £112 million, Osimhen just inked a new contract that brought Napoli a substantial sum of money. Napoli will expect this money if they approve a move this month.

Numerous Italian sources are certain that there will be some movement in the upcoming weeks.

This is the final season that fans will witness the forward wearing the renowned light blue uniform of the Serie A winners.

Osimhen can be the game-changer for Chelsea

In addition, Chelsea is under increasing pressure to act quickly because several teams are expected to be vying for Osimhen’s signing in the summer, which might lead to a transfer competition.

When Mauricio Pochettino’s team brought in Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in the summer of last year, they just encountered a similar circumstance.

Should the deal go through, Osimhen would rank among the club’s highest-paid players come summertime. Osimhen will give Chelsea manager Maurizio Machel the ready-made experience that his young team has been lacking.
