Washington will impose additional sanctions against Iran, aimed at Iranian missile and drone development programmes, as well as companies that cooperate with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Defence Ministry. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced.
Jerrymusa.com reports that statement claims that US President Joe Biden is putting up a “comprehensive response” to the Iranian strike on Israel in collaboration with leaders of both chambers of the US Congress as well as the US’ allies and partners.
Iran’s Recent Attack On Isreal
“In the coming days, the United States will impose new sanctions targeting Iran, including its missile and drone programmes, as well as new sanctions against entities supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s Defence Ministry,” the statement continues.
Sullivan states that the US anticipates that its partners and friends “will soon be following with their own sanctions.”
