La Liga: Real Madrid Fires wide, draws Rayo Vallencano 0-0 at home

Goalless between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallencano at the Santiago Bernabéu, but that’s not for a lack of trying for Los Blancos, who went close with several attempts.

A nervy opening saw both sides gift opportunities to Valverde and Alvaro Garcia, but neither could capitalise. From there, Madrid upped the ante, with Fran Garcia and Bellingham both firing over the bar either side of a superb Dimitrievski save from Joselu’s close-range shot.

According to Jerrymusa.com Rayo’s defence was held up relatively well, they were able to produce more in the final third themselves, the second half was a waiting game for the hosts to break the deadlock.

At the 88th minute, Bellingham sets off on another run through the middle and shrugs off Trejo’s challenge to find Rodrygo. He takes the ball to the byline and fires it low into the middle, but Lejeune gets across to thump it behind for a corner and prevent a near-certain goal from being scored.

The match ends 0-0 as Real Madrid failed to score against Rayo Vallencano at the Santiago Bernabéu.
