El-Classico: Bellingham's late strike ends Barca's unbeaten streak

Two minutes into overtime, Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham scored the game-winning goal against Barcelona in the season’s opening El-Classico at Montjuc on Saturday.

In the 68th minute, after Ilkay Gundugan had given Barca the lead just six minutes in, the England midfielder equalised with a spectacular goal from 40 yards out.

According to jerrymusa.com this season, Bellingham has scored 13 goals for both his club and nation in 16 games.

The first half featured nothing in the way of chances, and both goals appeared to come out of nowhere, with Ilkay Gundogan scoring his maiden goal for the Catalan club at the best time.

In the sixth minute, the German handed Xavi’s team the lead when he beat a helpless David Alaba to Aurelien Tchouameni’s through pass into his own box and fired home.

Bellingham scored with 20 minutes left to play to make up for Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Jules Kounde’s absences from the starting XI. A tough Barcelona had plenty of chances in the first half, with Fermin Lopez striking the woodwork.

After Tchouameni’s long-range drive struck the post, Bellingham took possession of the ball on the edge of the box and buried a low, hard shot beneath Ter Stegan’s outstretched glove.

Luka Modric made an unfortunate pass to Cameron Bellingham, and the youngster scored the game-winning goal from close range.
