Israel Continues Action in Gaza

Jerrymusa.com reports that 92 people had died and 156 had been injured as a result of Israeli bombing and shelling of Gaza in the last 24 hours alone.

On October 7, 2023, militants from the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, which is based in the Gaza Strip, staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and kidnapping over 240 hostages, including women, children, and the elderly. This incident sparked renewed tensions in the Middle East.

Hamas explained that its strike was in retaliation for Israeli authorities’ hostile acts against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City.

In retaliation, Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza as well as certain regions of Lebanon and Syria and imposed a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip, which was home to 2.3 million Palestinians prior to the crisis. On the West Bank, there have also been reports of clashes.
