On Wednesday, the Federal High Court in Lagos State granted businessman and socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cuban Chief Priest, N10 million in bail with two sureties in like sum.
Jeeeymusa.com reports that earlier in his trial, the celebrity barman entered a not guilty plea to charges of manipulating and abusing the currency.
The Cuban Chief Priest was charged with three counts of abusing naira after he reportedly violated the Central Bank Act of 2007 by misting and tampering with the country’s currency during a social gathering. The charges were brought before Justice Kehinde Ogundare.
Cubana Chief Priest Sprays Naira at a Party
It was claimed that on February 13, 2024, in the Eko Hotel, he sprayed the naira.
It was also said that the Cuban Chief Priest had committed the charges while dancing at a social gathering.
It was said that he had tampered with money by spraying N500 notes that the CBN had issued for two hours.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Cubana Chief Priest allegedly tampered with N500 banknotes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria sometime in 2020 during a social gathering in Lagos by spraying the notes for two hours.
