Group Urges Nigeria's President To Focus on Intelligence Gathering

President Bola Tinubu has been urged on Sunday by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to prioritise the safety of citizens’ lives and property.

Jerrymusa.com reports. That at a press conference in Abeokuta, Mr. Elvis Ekudina, the president of the Senate, made the announcement.
Ekudina stated that it was critical that the student body express its opinions about the status of the country.

Group urges President to address security issues

He urged the president to address the ongoing security issues, which include kidnapping, bandit attacks, and assaults on security personnel.

“The recent attack in certain Plateau state villages that resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens is still concerning,” he stated.

He continued by saying that the nation’s security forces needed to improve their intelligence collection in order to identify upcoming assaults.

FG tasked to enhance intelligence gathering method

“We demand a thorough investigation into this attack and that the Federal Government ensure that those responsible for the atrocity are held accountable and made to pay for their cruel deeds.

In order to protect ourselves against future attacks and counterattacks, we also urge President Tinubu to assign the leadership of our country’s security services the task of enhancing intelligence gathering methods.

“We demand that the president give the security of all Nigerians and our belongings top priority, as the constitution guarantees our fundamental right to life,” he uttered.

Ekundina pledged that Nigerian students will assist the administration to the fullest extent possible in order to accomplish its goals.
