Amazon founder Jeff Bezos took back his spot as the world’s richest man on Monday, dethroning Elon Musk on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Jerrymusa.com reports that Bezos is worth $200 billion, more than the CEO of Tesla’s $198 billion.
Musk, who also serves as the CEO of SpaceX and X (previously Twitter), has seen a decrease in wealth of over $30 billion due to a 25% decline in the price of Tesla’s shares in recent months.
Musk’s Recent Challenges
Musk’s problems got worse when a judge in January decided to void his massive $55.8 billion Tesla pay deal, which was first signed in 2018.
Bezos, who is no longer in charge of Amazon, has profited from the company’s soaring stock price in the interim.
Despite having recently sold off $8.5 billion in equities, he still holds the largest stakeholder position in the corporation.
Bernard Arnault, the French CEO of luxury conglomerate LVMH, is still ranked third on the list of the richest people in the world, worth $197 billion.
