Victor Osimhen has finally extended his contract with Napoli. Confirmed by the club today.
Jerrymusa.com reports that the deal extends the Super Eagles striker’s stay with the Serie A champions until June 2026. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed.
Osimhen happy to stay
De Laurentiis had been hinting at the deal in recent weeks, telling TG1 last night that it could be a “surprise Christmas present” for his fans.
The flamboyant Napoli coach published photos of Osimhen signing the documents with just one word: “It’s done!”
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and others, Osimhen will increase his salary to €10 million per season after taxes.
Other clubs want Osimhen
A release clause will also be introduced, set at 120–130 million euros and only valid for non-Italian clubs in the summer.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with an interest in Osimhen and are willing to pay his release clause if they wish.
Osimhen moved from Lille to Napoli in September 2020 for around 80 million euros and helped the team win the Scudetto. With 26 goals last season, he became Africa’s first top scorer in a season.
The 24-year-old Nigerian international played 117 games for Napoli, scoring 67 goals and providing 17 assists.
