The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in a decisive friendly at the Stade de Marrakech stadium on friday evening.
The Eagles were on top of their game from the start, defending and mounting pressure on the Ghanaian defence.
Jerrymusa.com reports that Nigeria was awarded a penalty in the 38th minute and was nicely placed by Dessers to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the game.
Ghana Down to 10 Men
The second half proceeded with the Eagles still mounting pressure on attack and the Black Stars struggling to defend their half when a hard tackle on Nigeria was spotted, which earned Opoku a red card and reduced the Ghanaian team to 10 men in the 56th minute.
Nigeria continued its reckless attack on the Ghanaians and got the second goal from Iwobi’s through pass to Lookman to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead in the 84th minute.
A late drama occurred as the Black Stars were awarded a penalty in the 94th minute, which was neatly converted to pull back one goal for the low-morale Ghana team.
