Barcelona Seem Favorite to Clinch the La Liga 2023 Title but the battle for European spots is still wide open.

The football fans switched back to club football after enthralling international football matches.

Various teams in the La Liga Santander squared up against one another for the match day 27 fixtures.

The weekend games kicked off with a Friday night match at the Palma de Mallorca.

Mallorca hosted Osasuna in a mid-table battle, which ended in a goalless stalemate.

Girona resumed La Liga action with a 2-1 win over Espanyol at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi.

The defeat means Espanyol is still in the relegation zone.

It put them in the 18th position at par with Almeria in the log with 27 points.

Sevilla secured three points against Cadiz, which boosted their chances of avoiding relegation.

The victory saw them move to 13th on the log with 31 points.

Barcelona FC maintained their lead at the top of the league with an emphatic victory away to Elche.

The league toppers fielded a second-strength side due to injuries and suspension.

But, it didn’t hurt their confidence a tad as they came out on top with a 4-0 triumph.

Robert Lewandowski scored a brace while Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres also found the back of the net.

Their efforts proved enough to help Xavi’s men churn up three points from the encounter.

It was an end-to-end affair at the Estadio de Balaidos where Celta Vigo where held by Almeria in a two-all result.

Both teams scored goals in the first half and canceled each other out in the second half of the match.

It rained goals at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu when Real Madrid hosted Valladolid.

Ancelloti’s players continued the momentum in the second half. Asensio and Lucas took the score to an emphatic six-nil.

La Liga 2023 Entering Business End

The win helped Real Madrid in keeping their chase alive of the league leaders.

They currently sit on 59 points, 12 points behind the league toppers.

10-man yellow submarines sank Real Sociedad at the Estadio de Ceramica.

The victory gave Villarreal a push for a European competition spot a notch.

They hold their grip on the 6th position on the log with 44 points.

Athletico Madrid maintained their 3rd position with a 1-0 victory over Betis.

Barcelona Look Set to Clinch La Liga 2023 Title

The La Liga 2023 season is only 12 game weeks away from its culmination.

Barcelona look likely to clinch the title as they are sitting pretty on top of the ladder. But European spots are still up for grabs.

Elche are in a spot of bother as they need to play out of their skins to reverse the losing trend and avoid relegation.

The remaining bottom teams will fight till the end to remain in the Spanish top-flight league.
