'Don't Come Back to South Africa', South Africans Threaten Nwabali

Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has come under threat from South African fans for allegedly not allowing their country to score in the just concluded AFCON semi-final match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday evening.

The threat came from social media users on X, formally called Twitter. South African fans expressed their displeasure about how Nwabali helped Nigeria progress to the final of the competition.

Nwabali May be Up For Something Bigger

Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, was reportedly threatened by South Africans not to return to his club in the country after Bafana Bafana lost to Nigeria in penalty shootouts in their semi-final clash at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations.

This was disclosed by Idah Peterside, a former Super Eagles international, in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, February 8.

The threat has generated lots of reactions from Nigerians, supporting the goalkeeper and suggesting the possibility of him not returning to the South African league.
