Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is dead.

He was managed by State House doctors until his death, as they could not fly him abroad..

On September, the ailing governor returned to Nigeria after a three-month medical leave in Germany, and recently went for another one after he was directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Since then, his deputy, has been standing in as the Acting Governor of the state.

In January, Akeredolu Was diagnosed of Leukemia.

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood caused by a rise in the number of white blood cells in the body.

One of the effects of this cancer is that It hinders the body’s ability to fight infections.

Symptoms of Leukemia

According to WebMD Cancer Center, its symptoms may include weakness or fatigue, bruising or bleeding easily, fever or chills, infections that are severe or keep coming back, and pain in your bones or joints.

Others symptoms include headaches, vomiting, seizures, weight loss, night sweats, shortness of breath, and swollen lymph nodes or organs like the spleen.

He has been struggling with managing the cancer since January till he died.
