Joe Biden blasted Donald Trump on Monday as a “convicted felon” who is seeking the US presidency for the first time in history, in a dramatic escalation of his attacks on his rival in November’s election.

Jerrymusa.com reports that President Biden, 81, addressed donors in Connecticut, marking the first time he publicly referred to Donald Trump as a convicted felon since the former president’s historic verdict in New York.

Biden And Trump’s Rivalry

Biden emphasized that Trump’s pursuit of the presidency despite his criminal conviction sets a dangerous precedent.

He also condemned Trump’s attacks on the US justice system, labeling them an “all-out assault” that poses a greater threat to the country.

Biden expressed concern that Trump’s behavior has become increasingly erratic since his 2020 election loss, saying “something snapped” and warning that a second term for Trump would have severe consequences.

The President criticized Trump’s suggestion that his imprisonment could lead to violence, asking rhetorically, “What kind of man makes such a statement?” Biden’s campaign has been cautious in addressing Trump’s conviction, balancing attacks with a focus on election policies.
