Two Missiles Fired at UK-owned Ship in Gulf of Aden — US Military

I Two anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched from Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist-controlled areas of Yemen towards MV Rubymar, a Belize-flagged, UK-owned bulk carrier.

“One of the missiles struck the vessel, causing damage,” said the statement posted on X.

Merchant Ship Rescues Crew

The statement said, “A coalition warship and another merchant vessel responded to the ship’s distress call.” “The crew was transported to a nearby port by the merchant vessel.”

Jerymusa.com reports that Rubymar’s security provider, LSS-SAPU, had earlier reported that a missile attack had seriously damaged the ship. According to Sky News Arabia, the ship had sunk, citing Yemeni sources.

“The Rubymar, which was sailing from the United Arab Emirates to Bulgaria, came under fire 35 nautical miles south of Mocha, Yemen, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency.

“The organisation, also known as the Houthis, declared they would launch an attack as the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation in the Gaza Strip escalated.

“Until the operation in the Palestinian enclave was completed, ship affiliations with Israel were to be barred from the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.”

Since mid-November, the Houthis have assaulted numerous civilian ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
