Canada’s authorities have placed 10 private individuals and 153 legal entities on the anti-Russian sanctions list, according to a statement by Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly.
Jerrymusa.com reports that under the Special Economic Measures (Russia) Regulations, the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, declared today that Canada is imposing further sanctions on 153 businesses and 10 people. In cooperation with the US and the UK, Canada is announcing these measures,” the memo stated.
Sanction Targets Russian Supporters
It is stated that “these sanctions target individuals and entities who support the Russian military through finance, logistics, and sanctions evasion.”
A ban is also placed on the shipment to Russia of specific items, such as explosives and detonators used in the building and mining sectors, that could be used to manufacture weapons.
