Mohbad supporters demand for justice

At the age of 27, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley at Marlian Records, passed away on Tuesday. Since Mohbad’s passing, his supporters and admirers have demanded a thorough investigation to determine the cause of his demise.

On Monday night, the late singer’s management posted on his social media accounts, saying they “appreciate the outpouring of love from Fans across the world to the ones who’ve organised events in their communities as a way to honour and pay respect to our shining light we say thank you.” Come to the candlelight procession and memorial concert for Mohbad.

On September 21, 2023, the candlelight procession will begin at Lekki Phase 1 Gate at 5 p.m., and the Tribute Concert will begin at 8 p.m. in Muri Okunola Park, Lagos State.

Youth Protest in Abeokuta

Young people in the Panseke neighbourhood of Abeokuta, Ogun state, have taken to the streets to protest Mohbad’s killing and demand justice. The youths gathered in large groups at the Skating Ground Arena, dressed all in black and holding signs that read, among other things, #Who off Light and #JusticeForMohbad. Additionally, young activists gathered on Monday at Effurun Roundabout in Delta State to call for justice in the artiste’s death.

NPF sets up a 13 man investigative team

Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, was a prominent Nigerian singer. On Monday, the Lagos State Police Command established a team to investigate his death. The squad is due to deliver an interim report in two weeks.

The 13-member team’s mission, according to a document signed by and provided to Our correspondent by the Lagos spokesperson, Benjami, is to “unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, identify witnesses, culprits, if any, and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigeria Constitution and the State Laws.”

“Following the passing of one IleriOluwa Oladimeji AKA Mohbad, aged 27 years, who died on September 12th, 2023, and in the overriding public interest, the Command has set up a special investigative team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, identify witnesses, culprits if any, and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process, and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative

The team is tasked with conducting a covert investigation that includes exhumation, autopsies, toxicology reports, histology, scene visits, hospital visits, and witness and suspect statements records.
