The transport authorities in the United Arab Emirates have announced free parking during Ramadan as well as unique hours for public transportation in several emirates. In order to avoid parking in front of mosques during Taraweeh prayers, authorities have advised drivers to abide by the regulations of the road throughout the month. In the UAE, the following public parking and transportation hours have been announced alongside the UAE’s Ramadan free parking:

Abu Dhabi

Ramadan in Abu Dhabi will see a change in the busiest times for Darb toll gates, forcing drivers to pay between 8 and 10 am and 2 and 4 pm, Monday through Saturday, according to the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Integrated Transport Center (ITC).

Monday to Saturday

Morning: 8am to10am

Evening: 2pm to 4pm

Sunday: Free

Throughout the month, the emirate’s mawaqif parking fines will continue to be collected between the hours of 8am and 12am. There will be no Darb and Mawaqif fees on Sunday, just like the rest of the year.Monday to Saturday: 8am to 12am

Sunday: Free

Service centres

ITC has also changed the hours of operation for its Customer Happiness Centers in Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Al Ain City Municipality, and now those locations will serve clients throughout Ramadan from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The centers will only be open on Fridays from 9am to 12pm.

Al Ain City Municipality and Abu Dhabi – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Abu Dhabi and its suburbs

Every day between 5am/6am to 1am the following day

Al Ain

Public buses will run in Al Ain from 7 am to 2 am. The services will be offered in its suburbs from 6 am to 11 pm, with a few services staying open until 12 midnight. With a modest modification in the frequency of a few routes in the city of Al Ain, the majority of the public bus services in the suburbs will stay the same.

Al Ain and its suburbs – 6am to 12am

Al Dhafrah – Other than a little variation in bus frequency, there won’t be any changes to the region’s bus services. But, during the iftar period, public buses will not operate.Abu Dhabi Express

The hours of operation for Abu Dhabi Express are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekends. Throughout the week, the Abu Dhabi Link service will be accessible from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Weekends – 6am to 1am

Ramadan Free Parking

The Ramadan free parking will hold Monday to Saturday: 8am to 6pm and from 8pm to 12 midnight
TECOM area (parking with code F): 8am to 6pm. The Ramadan free parking will hold virtually everyday of the week.

Customer happiness centres

Customer happiness centres

Customers Happiness Centers will be open from Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout Ramadan. The Smart Consumer Happiness Centers at RTA Headquarters, Umm Ramool, Al Manara, Deira, and Al Barsha will be open 24 hours a day as usual.

For the metro: both Red and Green Stations on the Red Line will operate on the dates as follow:

Monday to Thursday – 5am to 12 midnight
Friday – 5am to 1am
Saturday – 5am to 12 midnight
Sunday from 8am to 12 midnight

Dubai Tram

Monday to Saturday: 6am to 1am
Sunday – 9am to 1am.

Bus routes will operate from 6am to 1am (Next day)

The timings of the Metro feeder bus stations will coincide with the first and last Metro timing.

Sharjah

The Sharjah Municipality stated last week that there would be charged parking during Ramadan in the emirate.

From Saturday to Thursday, there will be paid parking available from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Fridays are free parking days, with the exception of areas with blue information signs. On every day of the week, parking in these places is a paid service.

After the adhan (call to prayer), parking around mosques will be free for an hour. Residents should enjoy the Ramadan free parking and not forget to drive safely.
