Bahrain suspends economic relations with Israel

The Council of Representatives of Bahrain announced that the government had recalled the Ambassador to Israel and decided to suspend economic relations with Tel Aviv as a show of support for the Palestinian people in the wake of Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.

“The Council of Representatives recognises that the Israeli Ambassador to Bahrain has departed the Kingdom and that the Kingdom of Bahrain has decided to recall its own Ambassador from Israel.

According to jerrymusa.com The Council announced the suspension of economic ties with Israel in a statement published on its website.

This resolution “is the confirmation of the historical and firm position of Bahrain to support the Palestinian issue and the lawful rights of the fraternal Palestine nation,” the parliament said.

In light of “continued war and military operations and continuing Israeli aggression in light of the non-observance of international humanitarian law,” the Council of Representatives of Bahrain must demand action to preserve the lives of innocent people in the Gaza Strip and other Palestine regions.

On October 7, Israeli territory was attacked by the radical Palestinian group Hamas from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and kidnapping over 200 people, including children, women, and the elderly, raising tensions once again in the Middle East.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying it was in retaliation for Israeli aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Israel has declared a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been conducting air assaults against the territory, in addition to parts of neighbouring Lebanon and Syria. The West Bank is also experiencing violence.
