Obtaining a driving license in the UAE is a top priority for most expatriates. While many residents must undergo several tests before being granted a license, holders of licenses from certain countries are exempt and can drive in the country.

Jerrymusa.com reports that the Ministry of Interior’s “Markhoos” initiative facilitates the exchange of driving licenses, allowing visitors to drive with their national license or exchange it for a UAE license if they hold a residence permit.

According to the Ministry’s list, license holders from 30 countries, including the UK, US, and Australia, can swap their license for a UAE one.
