Tinubu sacks FRSC, NBC, VON bosses, names new appointees

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu gave his immediate approval to the appointment of eight new CEOs for parastatals and agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

National Orientation Agency, Nigerian Television Authority, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, National Broadcasting Commission, Voice of Nigeria, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, News Agency of Nigeria, and Nigerian Press Council are a few of them.

According to jerrymusa.com the appointments occur a day after the President and Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information, held private meetings at State House in Abuja.

President Tinubu names new leadership throughout the information and national orientation sectors, according to a statement signed on Thursday by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Ajuri Ngelale.

The new Appointee’s

The new hires are Dr. Muhammed Bulama as DG FRCN, succeeding Dr. Mansir Liman; Mr. Salihu Dembos in his position as DG of NTA; and Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu as Director-General of the NOA.

Balarabe Illelah is replaced by Mr. Charles Ebuebu as Director-General of the NBC, while Osita Okechukwu is replaced by Mr. Jibrin Ndace as DG of the VON.

In addition, the President appointed Mr. Ali Ali as DG NAN, Dr. Lekan Fadolapo as Director-General of ARCON, and Mr. Dili Ezughah as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council.

Punch reports that The newly appointed leadership in these tub-sectors was given a mandate by the President to “innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government that function” to bring Nigerians together, change people’s perspectives, and present the country to the rest of the world.
