A Nigerian Superintendent of Police Ibrahim Sini has been honored for rejecting a N150m bribe from a Lagos-based businessman, Akintoye Akindele. Akindele was arraigned in August 2023 and remanded in Kuje correctional centre.

Jerrymusa.com reports that Sini led the investigation team and was offered the bribe to permit Akindele’s escape and write a favourable report. However, Sini chose to uphold his integrity, saying, “I wanted peace of mind, not riches that would make me sleepless.”

At a dinner in his honour, Sini advised youths to prioritise integrity, saying, “It’s good to be different, even in challenging circumstances.

The event’s organisers, Vegas Homes, hailed Sini’s exemplary conduct, saying it “inspires others to uphold ethical standards and demonstrates that the Nigerian Police Force has men of integrity”.

According to them, “SP Sini’s actions have not only brought honour to himself and the Nigeria Police Force but have also inspired countless others to stand firm against corruption and uphold the highest ethical standards.”
