The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have launched a nationwide strike in response to the government’s failure to address their demands for a higher minimum wage and other worker and public concerns.

Jerrymusa.com reports that the strike has resulted in the shutdown of government activities, with numerous government offices, schools, and businesses closing their doors. The labour unions are seeking a minimum wage of N494,000, which the government has declined.
