Organised Labour has on Tuesday rejected the N54,000 proposed by the Federal government as new minimum wage.
Jerrymusa.com reports that the Federal Government proposed N54,000 as the new minimum wage during a meeting with Labour, an increase from its earlier offer of N48,000.
A leader of the Organised Labour, who attended the meeting, revealed this to Vanguard in a telephone conversation.
Labour’s Decision
Recall that the Organised Labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, had walked out on the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage due to the government’s earlier proposal of N48,000.
Last week, the Organised Labour told the government to dismiss any notion of offering N100,000 as the new minimum wage, urging it to be serious with negotiations on workers’ wages.
The labour group insisted that it used the lowest minimum in arriving at N165,000 as the new minimum wage.
