The Nigerian national football team has welcomed four more players to their training camp in Portugal ahead of the international friendly against Saudi Arabia.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, both of whom have connections to Manchester City’s academy, are among the newcomers. Maduka Okoye, a former Watford custodian, and Frank Onyeka, a Brentford midfielder, have also joined the team.
These players have reported for international duty despite recent club obligations. A 2019 Flying Eagles invitee, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, got to know his new colleagues and took part in his first practice with the senior national team.
On October 13, 2023, at 5 o’clock (Nigerian time), the Super Eagles will compete in Portimo, Portugal, against the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia. Three days later, they’ll face the Mambas of Mozambique in the same city.
According to jerrymusa.com the Super Eagles will host Lesotho’s Crocodiles on November 17 before travelling to play Zimbabwe four days later as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
