Nigeria struggled to draw 1-1 against Lesotho on home turf

Nigeria struggled and failed to defeat Lesotho at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Thursday night in an African Cup of Nations qualifier group stage

According to jerrymusa.com the game started slow-paced as both teams tried to find their feet in the game. Nigeria picked up the spark around 10 minutes later and started to mount pressure on the visitors.

Nigeria missed several chances in the first half, shooting the ball wide and in the safe hands of Moerane, the Lesotho goalkeeper, to keep the score at 0-0 in the first half.

The second half started with the Super Eagles trying to find a goal, but the hope was cut short when Lesotho beautifully scored from a corner kick in the 56th minute to put Lesotho 1 goal ahead.

Nigeria geared up on the attack, looking for an equaliser, and was lucky to get one in the 67th minute when Ajayi’s beautiful header found the back of the net to level 1-1 for Nigeria.

The home team kept the pressure on until the 90th minute but couldn’t get past the Lesotho defence to end the score at 1-1.
