Iheanacho equalises as Nigeria survive Zimbabwe's onslaught

Nigeria continued its winless streak again, settling for a draw against Zimbabwe in the World Cup qualifiers at Huye Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The game started with Zimbabwe mounting pressure on the Nigerian defence line, forcing the visitors to repel the attack.

Zimbabwe’s constant attack led to a freekick in the 26th minute, which was struck beautifully past Uzoho to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

According to jerrymusa.com Nigeria continued the struggle to find an equaliser for the remaining period of the first half without any luck.

The second half started, with Nigeria mounting pressure on the Zimbabwe defence and trying to find a goal.

The Nigerian team was awarded a dangerous freekick in the half of the Zimbabwean team in the 56th minute but it was neatly defended by the home team.

The pressure from the Nigerian team finally yielded a result as a set-up pass from Moses Simon was put to the back of the net by Kelechi Iheanacho in the 67th minute to level the score 1-1 for Nigeria.

The game settled in Huye Stadium, Kigali, Rwanda as Nigeria draw 1-1.
