Victor Osimhen, a forward for both the Super Eagles and Napoli, has been shortlisted for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award for 2023.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in Napoli’s triumph last season, when the team won Serie A for the first time in 33 years, thanks largely to his efforts. Osimhen scored 26 goals, making him the league’s all-time leading scorer among African players. He also won the award for the league’s top scorer.
According to jerrymusa.com At the 2023 Ballon d’Or award held on Monday, Osimhen was rated 8th on the men’s list, thereby becoming the highest-ranked Nigerian player ever.
Sadio Mane, the current holder, is on the list, as is Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool. The Awards Gala night will be held on December 11th, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.
