The UAE has launched a revolutionary platform called “Work Bundle” that streamlines the process of obtaining work and residency visas. The new system reduces the required documents from 16 to five and the number of visits to government entities from seven to two.
Jerrymusa.com reports that the platform integrates all government entities involved in the process, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Dubai Health Authority, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
UAE’s New Visa Platform
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, announced that the platform will “facilitate, simplify, and shorten” the procedures for residency and work permits. The new system is expected to save 62 million working days and reduce 25 million procedures annually.
The platform offers a single platform for employment services, including renewal, cancellation, medical examination, and fingerprinting.
The “Work Bundle” project is part of the UAE’s digital transformation initiative to ease the process of establishing and managing businesses. It reduces the procedures from 15 steps requiring 16 documents to only 5 steps and 5 documents.
The number of visits to government entities to complete all requirements will also be reduced from 7 to only 2 visits, thus reducing waiting and processing time from 30 working days to 5 working days.
The platform is currently available on the “Invest in Dubai” website and mobile app and will be rolled out on other government digital platforms soon.
The project is supported by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Digital Dubai, which provides the digital infrastructure and services between government entities.
