There are strong indications that some helicopter operators may refuse to pay the $300 landing fee introduced by the Federal Government through its concessionaire, NAEBI Dynamic Concepts Limited.
A source revealed that some helicopter operators have expressed concerns about the new fee, and are considering joining the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to resist the efforts of NAEBI, the company authorized to collect the levy.

Jerrymusa.com reports that some operators have begun paying, others are seeking ways to persuade the federal government to reconsider the payment.
The source stated, “The helicopter operators are divided. Some have complied and are paying the charge, while others are trying to sabotage the federal government’s initiative by seeking the intervention of a prominent airline owner to influence the minister and mislead the public through negative media publicity.”
The source questioned why an airline owner would get involved, noting, “Why would an airline owner be dragged into this matter when helicopter operators are merely collection agents and not the ones paying the levy?” As previously reported, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo directed helicopter operators to comply with the levy, stating.
“Full compliance is mandatory, and non-compliance will result in sanctions. The Ministry will monitor compliance closely and take swift action against any violations.”
