Israel would set off a humanitarian disaster if it goes ahead with a military operation in the Gaza Strip city of Rafah, World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

“A full scale invasion o. n Rafah would be a humanitarian catastrophe,” he stated on X. “We implore Israel to hold off. We implore all sides to cooperate in achieving a long-term truce.”

Origin of Israel-Hamas Crisis

Jerrymusa.com reports that following the October 7 invasion of Israel by Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of Israeli settlers close to the border and the kidnapping of more than 200 captives, including women, children, and senior citizens, the situation in the Middle East quickly worsened.

The bombing was presented by Hamas as a reaction to Israeli operations against Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israel began attacking the enclave, as well as areas of Syria and Lebanon, after declaring a full siege of the Gaza Strip. There are also clashes happening on the West Bank.
