A seemingly unlikely light out occurred during the men’s 100-metre sprint race in the 13th African Games hosted in Accra, Ghana.

Athletes were preparing to mount the tracks when the main light in the stadium went off. Thus, there was a delay in the start of the race as officials had to wait for the light to be restored before the race commenced.

Ghans’s Recent Electricity Challenge

A source confirmed that Ghana had been facing some technical electricity issues in recent times, which might be the cause of the power cutoff at the stadium.

Meanwhile, Nigerian sprint icon Tobi Amusan won the women’s 100m hurdles Round 1 heat and has secured a spot in the semis of the women’s 100m hurdles at the ongoing Africa Games.
