Nigeria Pledges to Sustain Bilateral Relations with France on Security

The Federal Government has reaffirmed that it will maintain bilateral ties with France, especially when it comes to security and defence.

Additionally, it stated that the two nations’ bilateral ties would be further strengthened by the training and technology transfer.

Jerrymusa.com reports that when Emmanuelle Blatmann, the French ambassador to Nigeria, and her delegation were met in Abuja, the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, made this revelation.

Ties Between the two Nations will strengthen Bilateral relations

Henshaw Ogubike, the Director of Press for the Ministry, made a statement on Wednesday that included this information.

It stated, in part, that “Badaru stated that Nigeria was prepared to expand on the two nations’ current relationship, pointing out that the training and technology transfer would further strengthen the bilateral relations both countries have shared.”

“While acknowledging the departing As an ambassador for friendly ties with Nigeria, he declared that both nations are strategic allies and pledged to develop them even more to the point of advanced operations.

Intelligence Sharing a Key Factor

The ambassador, Emmanuelle Blatmann, had previously harped on the importance of intelligence sharing between nations in the war on terrorism.
She thanked the Nigerian government for showing her such love, trust, and warmth.

Furthermore, the Ambassador stated that in order to combat extremism, the terror network, and regional instability, there was a need to strengthen intelligence-sharing cooperation between the two nations.

“Blatmann said that she had been named Head of African and Indian Ocean at the French Foreign Affairs Ministry, and she had pledged that France would work more closely with Nigeria to strengthen the two countries’ defence ties.
