Nigeria's military neutralise 10 terrorists, rescue 9 kidnap victims

Operation Hadarin Daji troops have neutralized Ten Territories, Saved Nine Kidnapped Victims in Zamfara and Katsina States.

Jerrymusa.com reports that the Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Dani (OPHD) forces have shot and killed ten terrorists, freed nine hostages, and retrieved weapons and ammo, including functional motorcycles and communication devices.

Under the leadership of Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, the achievement was accomplished during recent clearance operations during the dry season.

Notably, on January 3, 2024, the OPHD’s combined forces launched an offensive operation in the terrorist enclaves located in Katsina State’s Batsari and Safana LGAs.

Ten of the terrorists were neutralised during this operation, and the remaining militants were wounded by gunshots.

Additionally, the troops found one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, seven Dane pistols, and three guns made locally, along with other potentially lethal armaments, military gear, cell phones, and communication devices; four motorcycles were found and demolished on-site.

Five Women and Babies were rescued

Similarly, on the same day, soldiers from Zamfara state’s Operation Hadarin Daji carried out a search and rescue operation in the villages of Dansadau and Dandalla in the Maru Local Government Area. Nine kidnapped victims—five women and four babies—were freed during the operation.

After engaging in gunfire with the tenacious forces, the terrorists withdrew, leaving the victims behind. At Magami, the rescued victims were reunited with their relatives right away.

Major General Godwin Mutkut, the commander of Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarin Daji, praised the soldiers’ achievements and asked them to keep up the pace.
