UCL Title Race: City equalizes, defeats Leipzig from 2 goals down

From two goals down, the European champions bare their teeth and fight back to lead 3-2.

Openda receives a long ball up from the back by goalkeeper Blaswich, takes two strides, and then slots the ball past Ortega and into the bottom-right corner from 15 yards out! Akanji was too easily nudged off the ball, but the visitors’ main marksman finished that expertly: 1-0.

Following a throughball by Simons, both Dias and Gvardiol fail to halt the run of Openda, who goes on to reach the Man City area once again.

The striker then places his low shot from the left side of the box into the bottom-left corner. The Etihad is stunned: Leipzig leads 2-0 in Manchester.

Having barely had a kick thus far, Haaland latches on to a low pass into the area by Foden, then beats Blaswich with a precise finish into the bottom corner.

That’s cut Manchester City’s deficit to one goal, and there’s everything to play for at the Etihad! City 1-2 Leipzig

Jerrymusa.com reports that Foden brilliantly beats Blaswich with a lovely finish that makes it 2-2 at the Etihad! That would be enough to take Manchester City through as group winners, provided they don’t slip up again.

Doku combines with Foden on the left, and the latter’s low cutback finds Alvarez unmarked in the centre.

After five games without a goal, the Argentina striker takes a touch to steady himself before firing the ball into the back of the net and securing a win for City.
