EPL Clash: Chelsea held Mancity to a dramatic 4-4 draw

Chelsea held Premier League champions Manchester City to a dramatic draw at Stanford Bridge. A pulsating game was brought to a close with a scoreline of 4-4.

Jerrymusa.com reports that the game took a while to catch fire, but City took the lead with 25 minutes on the clock, with Haaland winning the penalty by being hauled down by Cucurella before calmly sending Sanchez the wrong way from the spot.

Chelsea responded, though, and levelled just four minutes later, with Thiago Silva nodding home from Gallagher’s corner, before Pochettino’s men took the lead with 37 minutes played, with Palmer linking up with James before the right-back crossed for Sterling to tap home at the far post against his former team.

City would reply themselves, however, with Bernardo Silva picking out an unmarked Akanji with a cross before the centre-back headed home to send the game into the break at two apiece.

Cucurella gives Foden far too much space down City’s right, showing great patience to hold the ball up before playing it to Alvarez.

The Argentina international fires a superb cross towards the back post, where Haaland is waiting to bundle home and give his side the lead again.

Space opens up for Gallagher to let fly from a distance, but his powerful effort is straight at Ederson. However, the City goalkeeper fails to deal with it, parrying the ball back into the danger area where Jackson is waiting to take a touch before finding the bottom corner to level for Chelsea again.

Kovacic’s shot is blocked, but only to Rodri outside the box. The midfielder lashes goalwards, and City receives a huge slice of luck as Thiago Silva’s attempted block wrongfoots Sanchez and sends the ball into the back of the net.

The game takes yet another twist as Palmer steps up to fire home against the club he has been with for 15 years! Ederson guesses the right way, but the height on Palmer’s spot-kick takes it over the City goalkeeper and in to end the game 4-4 at Stamford Bridge.
